Starting school is always an important event in the life of any child and of any family bringing with it feelings of excitement, anticipation, worry, anxiety, curiosity and for some, resentment.

At Gurvan Tamir School, we aim to make your child’s first day of school a very positive experience and to make the transition to our school environment as gentle as possible.

Curriculum

Since officially recognized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education in the 2019-2020 school year, Gurvan Tamir school offers Cambridge International Primary Programme together with Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards in dual language for grades 1-5.

Cambridge International Primary Programme is an internationally recognised educational qualification that develops students skills, knowledge and understanding. The curriculum is flexible and can be implemented in dual language, Mongolian and English.

Subjects from Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards: Mongolian language, Human and Environment, Human and Nature, Human and Society, Citizenship Education, Health (for grade 4 and 5), Physical Education, Art and Technology

Subjects from Cambridge International Primary Programme: English as a second language, Mathematics, Science, Digital Literacy, Music and Cambridge Reading Adventure

Extracurricular activities: Dance, club activities

The School Day

Our school operates in a single shift that the duration of lessons is 40 minutes. Extracurricular activities take place after school. We have a 5-minute break per class session except for snack (20 minutes) and lunch (40 minutes).

Whole school assemblies are on Monday mornings and Friday after school. Students gather to sing National Anthem of Mongolia and to receive common announcements.
