Our history

Founded in 1999, Gurvan Tamir School is a non-profit, private, co-educational day school for grades 1 to 12. Since officially recognized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education in the 2019-2020 school year, Gurvan Tamir School offers a bilingual Mongolian-English programme with Cambridge International Primary and Lower Secondary Curriculum for grades 1-8 along with maintaining the Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards. The school offers its high school students the opportunity to prepare for “IELTS” and “SAT” examinations in conjunction with Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards.

Continuously carrying out its operations in the education sector over the 22 years, Gurvan Tamir school has been granted recognition as a “Leading Private School of Bayangol district” three times (in 2009, 2012, and 2013) and a “Leading Private School of the Metropolitan Ulaanbaatar” in 2014.

WHICH CURRICULUM DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER?

Since officially recognized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education in the 2019-2020 school year, Gurvan Tamir school offers Cambridge International Primary and Lower Secondary programmes in dual language for grades 1-8.

The school conducts Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards together with preparation for “IELTS” and “SAT” examinations in grades 9-12.

ARE THE TEACHERS EXPERIENCED?

Our teaching staff consists of young and dynamic teachers alongside those with many years of experience and qualification. The school focuses on continuous professional development training for each of them.

WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR GURVAN TAMIR SCHOOL?

An applicant who wishes to gain admission to Gurvan Tamir school will be requested to complete the online application form through http://gtis.edu.mn/mn/admission/. Applicants to grade 2-12  will take tests in Mathematics (in Mongolian and English), English and Mongolian language to assess their preexisting knowledge on the specified date. For grade 1 applicants, admission requires a screening interview to be conducted by the curriculum manager.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE THERE IN EACH CLASSROOM?

Gurvan Tamir school limits the number of students in each classroom to a maximum of 24.

IS THE SCHOOL TRANSPORT PROVIDED?

Transportation will be provided at an additional fee. The fee is calculated based on the distance a student is from the school and gasoline price.

ARE SCHOOL MEALS PROVIDED?

Healthy and nutritional school meals are served based on an international menu and are an additional charge.
