Lower Secondary (Grade 6, 7, 8)

Since officially recognized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education in the 2019-2020 school year, Gurvan Tamir school offers Cambridge International Lower Secondary Programme together with Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards in dual language for grades 6 to 8.

Cambridge International Primary Programme is an internationally recognised educational qualification that develops students skills, knowledge and understanding through primary years. The curriculum is flexible and can be implemented in dual language, Mongolian and English.

Subjects from Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards: Mongolian language, Mongolian traditional script, Mongolian literature, Citizenship Education, Geography, History, Social studies, Art, Music, Design and technology, Physical Education and Health

Subjects from Cambridge International Primary Programme: English as a second language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, Digital Literacy, Global Perspectives and Cambridge Reading Adventure

Second foreign Language: Chinese

High school

Gurvan Tamir school offers its high school students the opportunity to prepare for “IELTS” and “SAT” examinations out of Mongolian National Curriculum and Academic Standards.

School daily routine

Our school operates in a single shift that the duration of lessons is 40 minutes. Extracurricular activities take place after school. We have a 5-minute break per class session except for snack (20 minutes) and lunch (40 minutes).

Whole school assemblies are on Monday mornings and Friday after school. Students gather to sing National Anthem of Mongolia and to receive common announcements.

University and Career Counseling

Gurvan Tamir School is striving to provide university and career counseling service for our students to achieve their best. Accordingly, we are offering our high school students the opportunity to prepare for “IELTS” and “SAT” examinations.

Work Experience

Gurvan Tamir School is aiming to implement the Work Experience Programme, available to students in the secondary grades from Years 14-17.

The program not only offers students the opportunity to experience working life first-hand in some sectors and to develop the key skills needed in the workplace but also helps students find an appropriate career path.
