Both Day of Proclamation of Republic of Mongolia and the Day of National Pride have been celebrated throughout the Gurvan Tamir school from the 18th of November to the 23rd of November. Along with art contest, a composition contest in literature including poetry, story writing and essay has been organized amongst students in grades 1-12 while the door decorating contest has been held between the classes in the school under the concept of “Mongolian Pride”. Exhibition of artworks and compositions by students has been held on the 3rd floor of the school. Here are the winners and runners up for each of categories:

Art category amongst primary students:

Winner: M.Misheel from grade 4b

Runner up: T.Tumentur from grade 4a

Art category among secondary students:

Winner: M.Munkhtelmen from grade 10a

Runner up: A.Tuvdenjamts from grade 10a

Composition category:

Winner: Ts.Tsendsuren from grade 8a

Runner up: B.Purevbaatar from grade 10a

The door decorating category amongst primary grades:

Winner: Grade 5a under teacher G.Davaakhishig

Runner up: Grade 3a under teacher B.Lkhagvasuren

The door decorating category amongst secondary grades:

Winner: Grade 9b under teacher E.Bumtsetseg

Runner up: Grade 9a under teacher M.Jargalsaikhan

Several events have taken place on the last day of the celebration. At the invitation of T.Nurbolat, our head of language and humanities department, B.Khicheengui who traveled all over Mongolia at the age of 21 has given a talk titled “Youth with a backpack” to the teachers and senior grade students.

As dancing and music teachers performed a folk dance, 3 students representing from primary, secondary and senior classes have read the poem “Independence” by D.Purevdorj together with young teacher B.Lkhagvasuren and Honoured teacher of Mongolia, D.Nordjav. “Mongol Goyol” fashion show has taken place after the concert.

 

November 26, 1924, was the day when Mongolia declared itself as an independent nation with the adoption of its first constitution. The Day of National Pride which befalls on the 27th of November marks the birth of Great Chinggis Khan.
